From 1st to 1,030th: Flipboard is drowning
Flipboard, the popular news-reading app that debuted in 2010 just months
after the launch of the original iPad, has seen its App Store ranking
on iPad slide from No. 1 in the U.S. all the way down to where it sits
today: somewhere around 1,030th.
The rate Flipboard can charge advertisers has also fallen by more than 50 percent, according to the WSJ. And with fresh competitors like Apple News — which looks great on an iPad — exploding onto the scene, it’s hard to see how much longer Flipboard can stand out in the crowd.
